Otto's Shrunken Head w/ Uncle Monsterface - Show Acessment
Show was fucking great last night. Josh (my DJ) thinks we played a better show last time, but me, Devon (bass), and Rick Moranis (guitar) all think we played a way better show this time. The crowd was super into it, dancing and throwing the hands. My vocals were on point. Devon and Rick Moranis really played some tight improvisational licks when song structure became permissive, and Josh held it down even if he made a few mistakes. Hell, the crowd was instantly captivated by Josh because he was playing a Game Boy as a musical instrument. They loved it.
Awesome surprise: Shcaeffer the Darklord unexpectedly appeared in the crowd mid-set and joined us for Balloon Flight, spitting the verse he wrote for a similar, but planned, performance on the 20th.
After the show I got chatted up by a bunch of ladies (who had not noticed my nearby girlfriend?), and some dude asked me to sign to his indie label (roffles).
Video forthcoming!
I really want to take this group on tour. That would necessitate my having a new solo album to support and, ideally, a new Grammar Club album too. Also, I'd want two or more sets of T-shirts to sell: a Grammar Club one and a new Shael Riley one, in addition to the old Shael Riley one. Maybe then the tour could make money.
To that end, I vow to go to the library every day we don't have an earily-ish rehersal and write new music. Time to buckle down. Seriously, Shael, please to be down buckling thx.
